The great MUNCHES Juice Bar which remains open round the clock, 24 hours, day and night at Anjuna started off accidentally by the ever smiling and hospitable Proprietor Mr. John Dsouza.

Many years ago at one of his local house parties, John was approached by an amusing passing tourist if he just could get a cup of chai( Indian tea) as it was 2 am past midnight and everything around Anjuna was closed for the night. John naturally agreed and offered some tea and cookies to the tourist. Seeing this person, other tourists passing by, too stopped to join in for a cup of chai (Indian tea).

John having business acumen in him saw a wonderful business opportunity knocking on his door and by accident started serving cakes, cookies and snacks along with a cup of tea or coffee. This was 7 years ago and thus started MUNCHES with humble beginnings.

Today MUNCHES JUICE BAR is a well established and professionally managed MULTI CUISINE RESTAURANT. Unlike other restaurants where service is provided within fixed time limits, here the Kitchen is always open to serve as long as you are hungry and wanting to have a bite.

Munches in its present form saw the light of the day in the year 1996. Managed by a Goan couple who have hospitality in their blood, it was not difficult for them to taste sweet success by serving the taste buds of tourists. Starting off with only 4 to 5 customers Munches can now boast of serving thousands of guests throughout the day and night. High profile Indians, the Rich Russians, the Elegant English, the Party Crazy Israelis and the Middle East Arabs are seen in plenty here.

The Proprietor Mr. John Dsouza humbly admits to his support full parents, his father Mr. Valentino Dsouza loving called Abu John and his mother Mrs. Feliciana Dsouza (Phyllis). Both parents being professional cooks and having plenty of years of business catering experience in Kuwait, they were naturally pleased with the venture of Munches which had their wholehearted support and bountiful blessings.

You are welcome to visit Munches to pamper your taste buds, a small garden of Eden of John’s where cigarettes, wine, alcohol, breezers, beers are not sold. For John, Goa is heaven, Anjuna is the Garden of Eden and Munches is his little Paradise for food lovers. The only thing you can get high on at Munches is the delicious food.
